It is certainly a busy time of year but this week we will be back to our regular PA schedule. PARCC and CBM testing help us to measure how well are students are learning, but unfortunately, they take time to administer. I am thrilled to be seeing your children every day (Tuesday through Friday) this week. For my third and fourth graders, it's "Presentation Week" as students gather together the knowledge and information they have acquired to share with all of us. It is a week we all look forward to...as we learn so much from one another!

Please take a few minutes to read the memo below from Lisa Kuhn, our May Watts PTA President. She is requesting the help from a PA parent to act as our PA liaison for the 2015-16 school year. If this is something you feel you can do to help, please contact Lisa. Thank you!

In District 204, there is an additional Parent Teacher Association (PTA) for families in the PA program called IPPA PTA.  Their goals are to work with the school district to provide the best educational experience for PA children, provide a community support group for parents of PA children and be a resource for information about PA programs. This person would communicate back to PA parents at May Watts to help them understand the direction of the program and additional tools at their disposal.
Each year, the May Watts PTA designates a PA parent from our school to be the liaison to the IPPA PTA.  We are looking for a representative for the 2015-16 school year to attend the meetings and then report back to the May Watts PTA.   If you are interested in being the May Watts liaison, please contact Lisa Kuhn at 630-717-3123 or lakuhn001@yahoo.com.
Thank you!

My family and I have been blessed in so many ways, and I am extremely grateful!!

I have made a few revisions to the grade level pages for this coming week. I look forward to spending a great week with my wonderful PA students.
